皆さんは将来なりたい職業をどのように決めていますか。

　ある調査機関の調査によると小学生のなりたい職業の上位は、男子はサッカーや野球の選手、医師、ゲーム関連など、女子は看護師、獣医、保育士、パティシエールなどが上位を占めています。

　身近な人の職業なのか、テレビなどで見てあこがれるのか、知っている職業がどのくらいの数あるのか分かりませんが、その中から選べばということでしょう。

　ところが世の中には無限の職業がありますね。小学生が知っているのはほんの一部です。

 　知っている職業から将来を決めると、将来が狭められるように感じませんか。

　私は職業の名前で決めるのではなく、将来どんなことをしたいかを決めた方がはるかに良いと思っています。自分のやりたいことにはまだ名前もついていないかもしれませんから。

 　自分がしたいことはこういう事だと表現できるようにすることが大切です。自分のしたいことをできる企業があればそこを目指せばよいし、なければ自分が切り開いて仕事にしていくという気持ちが大切です。

　既存の世の中に自分を当てはめるのではなく、自分が世の中を作る一人になるのです。

 　もう一度言います。世の中の職業は無限です。可能性は無限なのに職業の名前にしてしまうと、その範囲は何億分の一にもなってしまいます。自分の将来は、したいことや世のためにするべき事を言葉にして、そこを目指して生きて欲しいと思います。気づけばそれが自分の職業になっているでしょう。

How does one decide what they want to be in the future?

According to a survey, the top jobs that elementary students want to be are occupied by soccer and baseball players, doctor, game developers, and so on for boy and nurses, veterinarian, nursey school teachers, pastry chef, and so on for girls.

I don’t really know how many of these are jobs of people who they are familiar with, or jobs they have seen on TV, or how many other jobs these kids know about but these were the job that were listed.

But really there are no limits to the number of job in the world. These are just some of the ones that elementary students know of.

If you only choose from the jobs you know, doesn’t it feel like your future will be rather narrowed?

For me, I think rather than picking a job from the name, it is better to first decide what you would like to do in your future.  This is because you may not be able to find the name of the job you want to do now.

It is important to be able to express the things that you want to do.  Also, it is important to find a company that you can do those things, and if not find ways that you can open yourself up to finding a job where you can do the things you want.

That way, instead of fitting yourself into the world that already exists, you become the one that make a world you want.

I’ll say it again.  There are no limits to the job out there. The possibilities are endless but if we choose a job that already exist, then the range of our possibilities shrinks hundreds of millions times smaller.  For your future, I think you should say what you want to do and what you will do for the world and then do your best to accomplish that in your life. If you do that, you will most likely find the job for you.
